AI desk brief

China Gold International has restarted open-pit mining at its Chang Shan Hao (CSH) gold mine in Inner Mongolia after a nearly five-month shutdown caused by slope instability, removing a supply disruption that had constrained output since May 22. The company says remediation and regulatory filings are complete, and it still expects CSH to produce 70,732-83,592 oz of gold in 2026 versus 96,816 oz in 2025.

The processing plant continued running on low-grade stockpiles during the outage, and the restart should allow fresh ore to be blended back in to stabilize grades and deliveries for the rest of the year. China Gold International also reported 2025 output of 70,883 tonnes of copper and 61,218 oz of gold at its Jiama copper-gold mine in Tibet; shares rose 2.4% in Toronto on the news.
